UsingAigaion/Maintenance
From AigaionWiki
There are several maintenance functions that help check consistency of the database. Some errors result in a message upon discovery, other errors lead to a silent repair.
- Check attachments - Checks stuff like: are all non-remote attachments actually present as files on the server; do the files on the server in the attachment directory belong to an attachment; are all attachments linked to a publication; etc.
- Check topics - Check whether all topics are linked to the topic tree, i.e. have a parent; check whether links between publications and topics refer to existing topics; check that all publications are subscribed to topic ancestors; etc.
- Check notes - check whether links between notes and publications are properly defined
- Check authors -
- Check passwords - This check returns an error message when users have been so lazy as to set an empty password, or use their login name as password.
- Check searchable names and titles -
- Check publication marks -
- Check for updates - check the demo installation on http://demo2.aigaion.nl to find out whether the Aigaion installation is up-to-date with the latest version
Also, there are maintenance functions for making a backup of your Aigaion database, and restoring an Aigaion database from such a backup file.
